All you need to know about Uber support in Australia [2023 guide]
Since June 2020, Uber has made some drastic changes to the way it provides support to its drivers. As a result, they closed all the Uber Greenlight hubs in Australia, with no immediate intention to open them back up. Whether you want to become an Uber driver or you're already a driver-partner, the Uber Driver app is currently your best tool to reach out to Uber.
If you want to join Uber in Australia
1. Download the Uber Driver app
The first step is to download the app, because this is where most of the sign-up process happens.

Select the type of delivery you are interested in – UberX or Uber Eats
Read any documents related to GDPR consent, agree that you have read them and that you accept your personal information to be shared by Uber. These documents refer mostly to the background check, necessary for the sign-up process.
2. Upload required documents
Depending on what you selected previously (city, type of work, whether or not you have a car), you need to upload several documents, for both you and your car. The app describes exactly what you need and how to upload everything correctly. Related posts:

4. Submit and pass the VEVO (right to work) check
If you don’t hold an Australian Passport, Australian Birth Certificate, or Australian Citizenship Certificate, the Visa Entitlement Verification Online (VEVO) check is a mandatory part of Uber’s sign-up process. It’s done via the Australian Department of Home Affairs and proves your right to work in Australia.
At a minimum, you need to provide your passport or ImmiCard details and one of the following reference numbers:
Transaction Reference Number (TRN)
Visa Grant Number
Visa Evidence Number
Complete your own VEVO check NCC will send your results directly to Uber.
5. Complete a driver safety education course
This is an online course that teaches you about your legal obligations as a rideshare driver and helps you make sure that every trip is safe and welcoming.
You can complete this course in the app, at any time during the sign-up process.
6. Get a vehicle inspection
This is the final step before Uber can activate your account. If the car you plan to drive with Uber meets your city’s requirements, the next step is to arrange a vehicle inspection to confirm it’s roadworthy.
Once you’ve submitted all the documents, it usually takes around 72 hours for Uber to activate your account.
