Winning the VW ID.3 is the best gift I could get this Christmas

It’s not every day you get to change someone’s life. Today, we welcomed Saimir and his family to Splend as the lucky winner of our Volkswagen ID.3 giveaway.

After completing an Volkswagen ID.3 test drive as part of the competition entry, Saimir was thrilled to be announced as the winner of this award-winning EV.

Winning the VW ID.3 is the best surprise I could get for Christmas, the best gift. It means a lot because it’s a brand-new car and nobody has driven it before and I think driving it will be a very, very nice experience. I’m really, really, really happy. I still cannot believe it that I’ve won this car. The ID.3 is a very smooth car, it’s so nice to drive.

Saimir was already looking to switch to an EV as he believes green mobility is the future of the private hire industry especially for drivers in diesel cars.

EV are the future of private hire and I think everybody should try to get an EV, you actually save on Congestion Charge, fuel and many other things. At the moment, I’m driving a Mercedes, a diesel one, and it costs so much for fuel. Every time I go to the fuel station it costs £120 to fill up.

Apart from savings on fuel and the Congestion Charge, Saimir is also excited for the additional earning opportunities that come with the ID.3.

With the Volkswagen ID.3 you can do Uber X and Uber Green. In central London you are quite open to many, many trips. At the moment there are not many executive EVs available. I think going for an EV for Uber Comfort could be a gamechanger as you have more options to earn.

Saimir was quick to enter the competition after receiving communications from Uber.

I had heard about Splend before the competition as I was already looking to buy an EV for the future. The chances of winning were 1 in 500 so the odds were quite good.
